Santiago - Rapa Nui - Punta Arenas - Torre del Paine
Arrival in Santiago de Chile, reception and transfer to the 5* De Luxe Ritz Carlton Hotel. Accommodation in a deluxe room.
Day 2. SANTIAGOAfter breakfast, a half day city tour of Santiago including a visit to the Museo Chileno de Arte Precolombino. This museum offers a thorough overview of 4500 years of pre-Columbian civilization throughout Central and South America. At the Main Square (Plaza de Armas) view the beautiful Cathedral, Post Office and National Museum. Continue along the main avenue called "Alameda" to admire the San Francisco Church and the National Library. You shall also see the Mercado Central which is one of Santiagos most colourful markets. A visit to Cerro Santa Lucia, where Santiago was founded in 1541 Lunch at Pinpilinpausha, one of the finest restaurants in Chile. In the afternoon, a visit via the Maipo Canyon and up to Las Vertientes, a popular resort at the foothills of the Andes, with a view of the winding Maipo River. We continue towards Pirque, a picturesque village and the Concha y Toro winery, one of the largest exporters of fine wines in Chile. Founded in 1883 by the Marquis of Casa Concha, he appointed French oenologist M. de Labouchere to bring the finest stock vine from France and to have it planted in the Maipo River Valley. Since then, Concha y Toro has been the leader adopting new techniques. The tour will end with some wine tasting before returning to Santiago.
Day 3. SANTIAGO - RAPA NUIAfter breakfast, private transfer to the airport for the flight to Rapa Nui, otherwise known as the Easter Islands. Reception and transfer to the Iorana hotel complete with outdoor swimming pool and beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean.
Day 4. RAPA NUIAfter breakfast, a full day's tour visiting Vaihu, where eight toppled Moai lie, Akahanga, Rano Raraku volcano, where the statues are half buried, Ahu Tongariki, where the largest Ahu (or platform) is located, Te Pito Kura (a large rock believed to have been brought from Tahiti) and Ahu Nau Nau (where the Moai are in particularly good condition). After a picnic lunch, time to enjoy the Anakena beach, the legendary landing place of Hotu Matua, the founder of Rapa Nui.
Day 5. RAPA NUIHalf day's excursion to Rano Kau volcano, site of ancient petroglyphs and the ceremonial temple of Iorongo, Vinapu (site of meticulous stonework found nowhere else on the islands) along with the Anakai Tangata caves. Free afternoon.
Day 6. RAPA NUIHalf day's excursion to Ahu Akivi, the famous seven Moais, believed to be one of the last built around 1460 and measuring 14 feet in height and weighing 12 metric tons. The caves of Ana Tepahu and Puna Pau, a quarry, from where the red hats that are worn by some of the Moai were made is also visited today. Free afternoon.
Day 7. RAPA NUIAfter breakfast, transfer to the airport for the return flight back to Santiago. Transfer to your hotel.
Day 8. SANTIAGO - PUNTA ARENAS - PUERTO NATALES - TORRES DEL PAINEAfter breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight to Punta Arenas, located on the very tip of the continent. Reception and transfer to the town for lunch at the Puerto Viejo restaurant before continuing the journey to Puerto Natales and into the heart of Torres Del Paine, Chilean Patagonia. This park is Chile's showpiece: a world biosphere reserve with all the diverse scenery of Alaska in only 180,000ha (444,600ac). The Torres Del Paine are spectacular granite pillars which soar almost vertically for more than 2000m (6560ft) above the Patagonian steppe. Day 9 - Day 11. TORRES DEL PAINEEach day, you may choose from between 5 different adventures out of a total of 21, depending upon weather conditions, guest preference, duration and degree of difficulty. Examples of tours include various treks on foot around the National Park to numerous lakes, glaciers and miradors, horse riding trips, trips by boat and trips by car. All explorations are with professional, bilingual guides. Exquisite gourmet meals with fine Chilean wine and an open bar is included during the entire stay at the hotel. The hotel also boasts an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna, massage rooms and open-air Jacuzzis.
Day 12. TORRES DEL PAINE - PUERTO NATALES - PUNTA ARENAS - SANTIAGOPrivate transfer back to Punta Arenas for your return flight to Santiago and onward for your flight home.
